Do You Want to Have a More Successful Website? Here’s How to Do it Right

Building a website from scratch is easier said than done, and if you have a business website, it needs to adhere to what your target audience wants. But even if you know your target audience and have a good idea of what they are looking for, you still need to consider other factors. Website success can be yours if you know exactly what your website is for and if you choose the right message, images, colours, and so on. Do you want to have a more successful website? Here’s how to do it right.

What is your purpose?

When designing your website, the very first factor you have to think about is its purpose. What are your visitors looking for? Are they going to your site to get information, or to be entertained? Are you thinking of selling something or would you like to get them to make some sort of transaction? Think about every single page, but most importantly the homepage. Every page should have a set purpose.

Communicate well

When people visit a website, they expect information to be easily acquired. They’re not going to waste time browsing through several pages just to get what they need. It’s therefore important for you to communicate well. Impart a clear message and make information convenient and easy to acquire. There are tactics and techniques you can use for this, such as organising your data with sub-headlines and headlines, bullet points, boxes, and so on.

Be clear on typefaces, images, and colours

Experts in web design in Oxford will tell you that the fonts will make a big difference as well. Generally speaking, Sans Serif (such as Verdana and Arial) is always a good choice since it is easy to read. When it comes to font size, the ideal is 16px. To make your website design more structured and streamlined, choose only 2-3 typefaces with 2-3 sizes.

The images you use will have an impact as well, as you can use images to position your brand and connect with your audience. Make sure the photos and images you choose are of the highest quality and professionally done, and don’t forget the importance of graphics, videos, and infographics. When it comes to colours, more is definitely not the merrier. Think your colour choices through and choose colours which complement your brand. Colours which contrast can also make your users’ reading experience easier. Whilst vibrant colours are always welcome, use them sparingly. They go better with ‘call to actions’ and icons or buttons. Finally, remember that white space is useful, and it can give your website a less cluttered, sleeker, and more contemporary look.
